Three people killed in C'nawabganj lightnings

Three people were killed in separate incidents of lightning strike in three upazilas of Chapainawabganj district on Monday morning.

The incidents occurred in Sadar upazila, Gomastapur upazila and Bholahat upazila of the district at around 8 am.

The deceased were Omar Ali, a resident of Jamtala area under Sadar upazila, Shariful Islam, a resident of Prasadpur village under Gomastapur upazila, and Anwar Hossain, a resident of Mushribhuja village of Bholahat upazila.

According to locals, farmer Omar Ali was working on a land near his home when the thunderbolt struck on him. He died on the spot.

On the other hand, Shariful Islam was seriously injured when lightning struck on him at his home. He was rescued and taken to Gomastapur Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Meanwhile, farmer Anwar Hossain died in a lightning strike while working on his land at Mushribhuja village at around 8 am.
