A meeting was held to form a
youth forum in Barguna under the initiative of Trust Project of Private
Development Agency. The meeting was held at the Pathshala of Jagonari on Monday
at 11 o'clock.
Chairman of the National
Women's Organization and Municipal Reserved Women Councilor Panel Mayor Hosne Ara
Champa spoke as the chief guest in the meeting chaired by the Executive
Director of CBDB Zakir Hossain Miraj, former President of the Press Club and
Lok Betar station manager Monir Hossain Kamal spoke as a special guest, “Nirapod
Shorok Chai” Nishcha and Barguna district branch president journalist Mahbubur
Rahman Ovi and others. The program was conducted by Md. Khalilur Rahman,
Barguna district coordinator of Rupantar Astha project and Kohinur Begum, field
officer. At this time, a three-member convening committee was formed to conduct
the youth forum with 30 marginalized youth and young women from 10 unions of
Barguna Sadar Upazila. 30 youth and young women from 10 unions of Barguna Sadar
Upazila were present in this youth forum formation meeting. Non-Government
Organization is implementing trust project activities in 6 upazilas of Panwar
Barguna district.
It is to be noted that this project will involve Trinamool youth in social activities in the light of National Youth Policy 2017 to make them active citizens and encourage youth to build a tolerant and non-violent society. This activity of Astha Project is related to articles 5, 10, and 17 of the 17 goals of the SDGs. Irrespective of party affiliation, the implementation of the National Youth Policy and the involvement of youth in social activities will increase the capacity.
