Police determined to meet any obstacle to maintain law and order: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Bangladesh, and Chief Patron of the Bangladesh Retired Police Officers Welfare Association (BRPOWA), Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has said that the first and foremost task of the police is to maintain law and order and establish themselves as servants of the people. The IGP said, “The police formed the first armed resistance in our Liberation War. Police have faced many challenges in the past in maintaining law and order. Bangladesh Police is moving forward with the determination to face any challenge in maintaining the law and order of the country.” The IGP came up with the remark while addressing as the chief guest at the 40th annual general meeting (AGM) of BRPOWA at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium at Rajarbagh in the capital on Saturday morning (9 December). The acting president of the association, retired DIG valiant freedom fighter Md. Waliar Rahman, presided over the meeting attended by serving and retired police officers.
