Like Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dhakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations, the Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Ibtedayee examinations will not be held this year.
Md Aminul Islam, Senior secretary of Primary and Mass Education Ministry, disclosed this information to journalist on Monday.
He said they are putting emphasis on the fulfillment of the lack of learning. Therefore, the PEC examination will not be held this year.
Earlier on Sunday, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni made a revelation that JSC and JDC examinations will not be held this year like two previous years.
Mentionable, the government started holding PEC examination for the students of class five nationally from the year of 2009. Later, the Ibtedayee examination for the madrasa students began in the country. After that, the JSC examination for the students of class eight commenced. And also JDC examination started for the madrasa students.
There were different types of controversy over these examinations. Many guardians and people concerned were demanding cancellation of these examinations due to immense pressure on the students.
These examinations were not held in the last two years due to Covid-19 pandemic.
