A Rajshahi University (RU) student has 'took his own life' at a student mess in Rajshahi city's Binodpur area.
The deceased was Md Tanvir Islam, second year student of public administration department of the university. He hailed from Nilphamari.
Police recovered the body from Student Palace mess around 12:45am on Friday.
A suicide note was found inside the room where he wrote "committed suicide willingly.
The university proctor Asabul Haque said, "We found Tanvir hanging from a ceiling fan of the mess room. and informed police. Later, he was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead."
