In the 12th National Assembly
elections, the nomination papers of two candidates out of 8 candidates have been
canceled and the nomination of one candidate has been suspended.
The nomination papers of 5
candidates, including former minister and presidium member of Awami League
Sheikh Fazlul Karim Salim MP, have been declared valid in this seat on Sunday
morning in the conference room of the District Returning Officer and Deputy
Commissioner. District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Kazi Mahbubul
Alam informed this information.
He also said that the
nomination of Jasdar Md. Ful Mia and Bangladesh Jatiya Party's Omar Khayyam
Nayan were canceled due to concealment of case-related information in the
affidavit and Zaker Party's Md. Sajjad Hossain Mia's nomination papers were
suspended due to outstanding electricity bills.
After verification, the nomination papers of Sheikh Fazlul Karim Saleem (Awami League), Md Jamal Uddin Sheikh (Trinamool BNP), Kazi Shaheen (Jatiyo Party), Md Aminul Hasan Shaheen (Independent) and Mamunur Rashid (Mukti Jot) have been deemed valid.
