Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said today law enforcement forces can't arrest a person without a warrant except for cognizable offences under the Cyber Security Act (CSA).
"There are only 4 sections of cognizable offences in the Cyber Security Act. No law enforcement agency has the power to arrest without a warrant except for a cognizable offence. The questions being raised are misinterpretations of the Cyber Security Act," the minister said while speaking to journalists after a meeting of the Dakhin Union Awami League in Akhaura Upazila of Brahmanbaria on Friday (15 September).
Akhaura South Union Awami League Acting General Secretary Majnu Mia presided over the extended meeting, Akhaura Upazila Awami League President Mohammad Ali Chowdhury and General Treasurer Takzil Khalifa and other leaders of upazila and union Awami League were present.
