Although the intensity of thick fog is less in Kurigram today, people are overcome by cold in Konkan. Since two days, the cold is felt more in this region. The lowest temperature in the district was recorded at 11.5 degrees Celsius on Thursday (January 11) morning. As the day temperature drops to close to the night temperature, it feels cold till noon. In Konkan, despite the cold, day laborers and low-income people go out to work, but they are suffering due to lack of necessary warm clothes. In particular, due to the increase in the severity of winter due to the northerly winter wind, the people living on the banks of the rivers and the islands are suffering. The laborers are suffering because they cannot go to work in winter and cold Konkan. On the other hand, the number of cold-related patients has increased in local hospitals. Zahurul Islam of Charar Char of Jatrapur Union in Sadar said, "Our char has been very cold for the past few days. Can't get out of the house. Because there is always wind on the river bank. It is colder because of the wind. Sadar's Jatrapur Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Md. Abdul Ghafoor said, "My union is surrounded by rivers." It feels very cold here. 400 blankets have been distributed to madrasa children by the government before the elections. Yesterday only 80 blankets were distributed in different areas. In this situation, if various social organizations come forward along with the government, the people of my Charer here would have benefited. Subal Chandra Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Rajarhat Agriculture Meteorological Office of Kurigram, said the temperature will remain like this for another two days. A little improvement is likely later. Moreover, another cold wave may sweep over the district this month. Kurigram Sadar Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Mushfiqul Alam Halim said that 4 thousand blankets have been distributed in Sadar Upazila. Winter clothing is currently out of stock. Allotment sought. Will be delivered if received
