Mentioning that BNP’s illusive dream of ousting the government will never be materialised, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said Sheikh Hasina government will remain in power as long the country people want.

The AL general secretary in a statement on Friday said, “BNP leaders are talking loudly without understanding the reality of the global crisis and are trying to do politics by capitalizing on the suffering of the people.”

The government would not be ousted merely by the words of BNP leaders, said Quader.

Criticising the BNP secretary general, Quader said, “The crisis caused by the Russia-Ukraine war has created a global impact. All the countries of the world are dealing with this crisis.  And, they are looking for direction on how to deal with it if the crisis deepens in the future. However, the BNP Secretary General is demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for this reason.”

He said, “World Bank fears global recession from the next year. Bangladesh is not an isolated island. Although this global crisis is not caused by us but it has affected our country.”

As Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina asked to take precautionary measures in advance and increasing the production  of food as she is a visionary leader, said Quader.

In response to Fakhrul’s remarks that the government would be ousted through movement, the AL general secretary said the BNP secretary general has been saying this for more than a decade to encourage their frustrated leaders and workers.
