Hasina to kick off polls rally from Sylhet: Quader

Prime Minister also Awami League President Sheikh Hasina will kick off election campaign from a rally to be held first in Sylhet, party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Monday.

While addressing a press conference at Awami League’s Dhaka district unit office in Tejgaon area, Quader also road Transport and Bridges minister, called upon the people to participate in the rally enthusiastically.

However, the Awami League leader did not announce the schedule for the Sylhet rally.

Claiming that the countrymen are waiting eagerly to vote for boat, electoral symbol of Awami League, he said they will remain alert on the street until the 12th parliamentary election to be held either at the end of 2023 or early 2024.

He blamed BNP for hatching a conspiracy to foil the national election and asked the members of law enforcement agencies to remain watchful to thwart the evil attempt.

Regarding the European Union's request for the release of eight thousand BNP leaders from prison, Quader said, “These countries are our friends. Rather than condemning them, we can assist in providing them with accurate information. They may be lacking of information."
