Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and their allies will hold a rally in front of the party headquarters in Nayapaltan to realise their one-point demand for election under a non-partisan government and demand the release of their chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will attend the rally as chief guest.

BNP’s Dhaka south unit and north unit will jointly organised the programme at party’s central office at 3pm.

Meanwhile, the ruling party Awami League will hold a "Peace and Development Rally against Terrorism and Anarchy" in Dhaka on Friday.
Dhaka Metropolitan South unit of Awami League will hold the rally at Bangabandhu Avenue.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader will be the chief guest at the rally. The event will be chaired by freedom fighter Abu Ahmed Mannafi and will be convened by Organising Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League Md Humayun Kabir.

Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League Office Secretary Md Riaz Uddin , however, said that they have been regularly holding peaceful rallies against terrorism and anarchy.

Awami League doesn't have a political culture of blocking any party's political programme, said he said. "However, no one will be exempted if they create terror and anarchy on the streets in the name of a political programme," he added.
