Customs intelligence on Tuesday morning recovered 10 gold bars worth about Tk one crore from a garbage trolley of Sylhet Osmani International Airport.
The gold bars were recovered from the garbage trolley of Biman Bangladesh Airlines after returning from Doha at 8am.
"The weight of the recovered gold bars is over 1kg. None was arrested from the spot," said Customs House revenue officer Najasi Parvez.
"On secret information, we searched the passengers just after the plane landed at the airport but did not find anything. But when they got down from the plane, the gold bars were found after scanning the garbage trolleys," she added.
