Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader gave the BNP a 36-day ultimatum to give up their ill politics, sabotage, and conspiracies against democracy.

"They issued a 36-hour ultimatum for their leader's treatment abroad when they couldn't even protest for Khaleda Zia for 36 minutes. I'm giving them 36 days to get on the right path. We will together thwart BNP's disruptive actions against the people,'" he said.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, made these remarks as the chief guest at the peace rally organised by Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League in Uttara, the capital.

Promising a steadfast resistance to the opposition party, Quader said, "BNP now leans on the US visa policy, while Awami League solely relies on the power of the people. We don't care about any visa policy or restrictions. We liberated Bangladesh through blood, not to bow to any bans."

He added that the BNP is unable to stand on its own, hence their reliance on US visa policies.

"I will conduct my election; democracy in Bangladesh will not be influenced by anyone. Bangladesh will not cast votes under anyone's influence. The vote will follow the rules of the constitution," Quader affirmed.

Regarding Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's selfies with US President Joe Biden, Quader remarked, "One selfie of the US President with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Delhi and another in New York have left BNP sleepless."

Earlier in the day, Awami League leaders and activists began to gather at the rally venue. They expressed their determination to remain in the field to counter all the disruptions caused by BNP-Jamaat.

Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman presided over the rally.
