Fire broke out at a high rise building at Amtoli in Mohakhali in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
Receiving information, three Fire Service units went to the spot to douse the fire. Besides, four more units were on the way to the spot.
Fire Services and Civil Defence's media cell officer Shahjahan Sikder said the fire broke out at Khawja Tower at Mohakhali at about 5:00pm. It is learnt that the fire broke at the 12th floor of the 13-storeyed building.
Plying of motor vehicles on both sides of the road from Amtoli to Gulshan-1 were suspended after the fire broke out, the Fire Services' source said.
