Unrest at BSMMU following doctors' protest
City

Around 500 post-graduate private trainee doctors under Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) are on demonstration to press home their three-point demands.

They thronged in front of C Block of the hospital and have been staging demonstration since 11:30am on Tuesday.

Their three-point demands are to increase monthly allowance, payment of arrears and regularise allowances.

The doctors were chanting different slogans. They demanded to pay Tk 50,000 allowance regularly.

The protesters also cordoned off BSMMU vice-chancellor Prof Sharfuddin Ahmed's office.

They requested the VC to meet them directly and warned that they will start sit-in if their demands are not met.
