Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday urged BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir not to do excess over anything.
“Don’t do anything excess, doing excess is bad. Take lesson from the history,” Quader said this while virtually addressing the triennial council of Meherpur district unit of AL from his official residence in the capital.
About Fakhrul’s recent remarks demanding the list of AL’s money launderers, Quader said, “If the list of money launderers is needed to be published then the name of your party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman would come first.”
Regarding PK Haldar, Obaidul Quader said that he is not a member of Awami League, yet he is identified as a money launderer and his trial will be continued as per the law.
He further said those who are involved in extortion, drug trafficking, smuggling and terrorism in Awami League will not get a place in the party in any way.
Quader said Awami League should be prepared as well organized, smart political party from now on to take part in the next elections under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
Awami League joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, organizing secretary BM Mozammel Haque, central executive committee member Amirul Alam Milon and Advocate Gloria Sarkar Jharna were, among others, attended the council.
Meherpur Awami League President Farhad Hossain presided over the programme.
