A Cyber Tribunal in Dhaka on Monday dismissed a case against BNP leader Mizanur Rahman Minu, a day after filing under Digital Security Act (DSA).
Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge AM Julfiker Hayet passed the order finding no 'cogent grounds' to take the charges into cognisance.
The victim did not file the case, rather the case was filed by distant relative of the alleged victim. He has no right to file the case, the tribunal added.
Parvez Hossain, a officer of Enamul's business institution Ena Group, filed the case at Dhaka Cyber Tribunal on behalf of the AL lawmaker from Rajshahi-4 on Sunday.
Parvez alleged that Minu, also former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation, on a private TV talk show on July 19, called Enamul Haque former president of Chhatra Shibir.
He also said Enamul was never an activist of Chhatra League and Jubo League. Now he is an AL MP. Such false and fabricated remarks had damaged the image of the lawmaker, Parvez mentioned in the case.
