Two people, who were sentenced to death for killing publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan, fled from the prison cell of a Dhaka court on Sunday.
The absconding convicts are Moinul Hasan Shamim alias Samir alias Imran, and Abu Siddiq Sohel, both of them were members of banned militant group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
The incident took place when they were coming out from the Anti-terrorism Special Tribunal in Dhaka at around 1.40pm.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Media) Md Faruk Hossain confirmed the news.
On February 10 last year, a Dhaka tribunal sentenced eight members of the banned militant group to death for killing Dipan in October 2015.
