The deadline for this year’s Hajj registration has been extended till Sunday.
The religious affairs ministry made the announcement on Thursday.
The [Hajj registration process has been extended till May 22, under both public and private management. For this purpose, the branches concerned of the banks involved in Hajj activities will accept registration fees even on Saturday, May 21,” a ministry notification read.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate this year’s Hajj flights, which will likely start on May 31.
This year a total of 57,856 pilgrims from Bangladesh will be permitted to take part in Hajj. Of them, 31,000 will fly Biman and the rest will fly Saudia and Flynas, subject to getting permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).
