A mild cold wave is sweeping over Chuadanga district for the fourth consecutive day. Besides, the district has been recording the lowest temperatures over the last three days.

The district's lowest temperature at 7.8 degree Celsius was recorded this morning, which was 8.4 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the lowest temperature at 7.8 dergee degree Celsius was also recorded in Jashore today, said Md Bazlur Rashid, a meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

The shivering cold is causing immense sufferings for low-income people, forcing them to stay indoors. Cold weather is disrupting day-to-day life and the poor are the worst sufferers.

The hospitals in Chuadanga district are overwhelmed with patients with cold-related diseases.

According to the BMD, a mild cold wave is shivering across the country and it may continue for some more days.

Due to the downtrend in the temperature, the people of char areas of 16 rivers including Brahmaputra, Dharla, Teesta and Dudhkumar are facing difficulties.
