A readymade garment worker, who was injured in police firing on November 8, succumbed to his injuries early Sunday.

He breathed his last around 1am at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

The deceased was Md Jamal Uddin, 40. He worked in Islam Group and hailed from Netrakona.

Confirming the death news, the hospital police outpost in-charge Bachhu Miah said Jamal Uddin and another female worker were injured by bullet when police members tried to disperse the protesting workers from road in Gazipur's Konabari on November 8. The female worker died on the spot. And Jamal Uddin was admitted to the ICU of the DMCH.

Mentionable that, the garment workers have been on the road for the last few days demanding a hike in their wages. Then the owners decided to give them Tk 12,500 at the entry level. But the workers did not accept the decision. They demanded Tk 23,000.
