Biman Bangladesh Airlines has sacked five of its employees for their involvement in leaking recruitment exam question papers. 

A letter signed by Biman Managing Director and CEO Zahid Hossain was issued in this regard on Saturday, which said the order will be effective immediately.

The national flag carrier in the order said it had sacked motor transport operators Jahangir Alam, Mahfuz Alam Bhuiyan and Enamul Haque, and office assistants Awlad Hossain and Harun ur Rashid for breaching clause 12 of their employment contract.

The Detective Branch of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested the five junior officers and employees of Biman over their alleged involvement in leaking recruitment exam question papers.

The agency also seized soft and hard copies of questions, bank cheques, stamped documents, four diaries, admit cards of examinees, mobile phones and cash during the drive.

According to the DB, the hourlong recruitment test of Biman was scheduled to take place from 3pm to 4pm on Friday. 

On Thursday night, the detectives came to learn that the questions for the test had been leaked.

After identifying the culprits, the agency launched a drive, recovering a total of 100 leaked questions from their possession. 

A senior officer of the DMP told Dhaka Tribune that the police were trying to identify the masterminds behind the question paper leak. The arrestees had hinted that a top official of the Biman GSE (ground support engineering) unit might be involved, the police officer added.
