Bhola district Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal(JCD) president Noor-e-Alam has died after fighting for life for long 72 hours being injured in clash between BNP and police.
He died at Comfort Hospital at Green Road in Dhaka at about 3:00pm on Wednesday (August 3), raising the death toll from the clash to two.
Humayun Kabir Swapan, joint general secretary of Bhola District BNP, said Noor-e-Alam suffered multiple bullet injuries during the clash with police on Sunday.
He was brought in Comfort Diagnostic Centre in the capital on the same day where he succumbed to his injures around 3:00pm.
He had been on life support over the last three days at the ICU of the hospital.
Noor-e-Alam left behind his wife, a five-year old daughter, relatives, friends and well wishers to mourn his death.
As part of BNP's countrywide demonstration programme protesting the ongoing load-shedding and mismanagement in power sector, the leaders and activists of the party gathered in front of their district party office in Bhola town on July 31.
At one stage, police obstructed them when they tried to bring out a procession at Kalinath Roy Bazar around 11:30am, triggering a clash.
Later, police fired bullets and lobbed teargas shells at the protesters that left local Swechchasebak Dal leader Abdur Rahim dead and some other leaders and activists of the party injured.
