All set for rally at Nayapaltan, BNP says after DMP asks for alternative venues

The Bangladesh Nationalist Pary's 28 October grand rally, which is being organised as part of their "one point movement" to oust the government, will be held in Nayapaltan, said the party's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

The BNP leader said all preparations have been taken to hold the rally at Nayapaltan, it will not be possible to hold the rally elsewhere.

The Dhaka Metropolitan police had asked BNP to select two other venues instead of Nayapaltan for their grand rally, which the BNP has replied to said Rizvi on Thursday.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) had asked for permission to hold a major rally as part of their "one point movement" to oust the government in Nayapaltan, Dhaka, on (28 October).

However, the DMP also sent them another letter in response, asking for details regarding the rally such as number of participants, event timing and other event particulars, Golam Ruhani, assistant commissioner of Motijheel zone confirmed to.

He said, the DMP also asked for two alternate venues in case the rally cannot be held at Nayapaltan due to public safety risks.

The letter has been sent to BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, said Paltan police station OC Md Salahuddin.
