Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday held BNP-Jamaat men responsible for their atrocities on October 28 and warned that they will not be spared.
“The act of terrorism in the name of movement is sorrowful. They killed a policeman and injured many journalists. They must be punished,” she said this while addressing a conference of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) held at Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka on Thursday.
Citing the heinous activities of the BNP-Jammat men, the prime minister also blasted the civil society members and rights body activists for their silent role in this regard.
“Where are the civil society members? What is their job, only find out the fault of Awami League?” said the prime minister.
The BNP-Jamaat clique has attacked a hospital inhumanly following an attack on a Gaza hospital, said the prime minister.
Hasina also called upon the journalists to project the atrocities in the international arena to unmask their real faces.
About the welfare of journalists, she said her government is working to form a 10th-wage board.
Referring to her government’s achievement in the three-term rule, she said, “We took a challenge to build the Padma Bridge with our own fund and we became successful.”
The country is making remarkable progress, and this achievement can be attributed to the three consecutive terms of the Awami League government's rule.
She also sought vote for boat, electoral symbol of Awami League, in the 12th parliamentary election to ensure the continued development of the country
