The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned Gazipur City Corporation (GCC)'s expelled mayor Md Jahangir Alam for an inquiry about his wealth.
In the summoned letter, ACC deputy director requested Jahangir Alam to appear before it on May 22, a top source of the anti-graft body confirmed this on Wednesday.
Jahangir Alam was summoned on charge of acquiring wealth illegally.
He was expelled from Awami League (AL) for life on May 15.
Jahangir Alam was elected as mayor in the previous election of GCC. But, he was expelled in November 2021 for his remarks against Bangabandhu and his party. Then Jahangir Alam lost his mayoral post.
