Three workers reportedly died inside a septic tank of an under-construction building at Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur district. on Wednesday morning while working.
The deceased were Masud, 35, son of Taher, Saidul, 38, son of Mohir Ali, and Altaf, 45, son of late Jalal Uddin, residents of Naokhoir village in the upazila.
Quoting locals, Chirirbandar Police Station officer in-charge Bazlur Rashid said three workers were working inside the septic tank of a building of USA expatriate Milon around 8:00 am. But they did not return after a long time.
Later, locals found them unconscious inside the tank and rushed to Chirirbandar Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared Masud and Saidul dead and referred Altaf to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Altaf died at the hospital around 11:00 am while undergoing treatment there.
Legal steps in this regard are under process, the OC added.
