Customs officials seized 14 kilogrammes of gold from the cargo village at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka last night.
The gold was brought to Dhaka through a Singapore Airlines flight that landed at the airport around 10:30pm yesterday, said HM Ahsanul Kabir, assistant commissioner of Customs.
Tipped-off, custom officials seized a shipment, which was imported declaring garment products, he added.
Eighteen gold bars and 183 gold-chains, worth Tk 7 crore, were found hidden inside detergent packets, the custom official added.
