A school boy was killed after an unidentified vehicle hit him in Tejgaon Industrial area of the capital on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ali Hossain, 17, was a student of Government Science High School in Tejgaon, son of Ajmir Hossain of Krishnapur village of Barisal Muladi upazila.
He had been living with his family in Tejgaon's Kuniapara area.
Quoting Ajmir Hossain, father of the victim, Sudharshan Rajbangshi, sub-inspector of Tejgaon Industrial Police Station, said the vehicle hit him while Ali was crossing the road at 8:00am, leaving him injured.
Later, locals took the injured to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead.
