When a class 10 girl student of Komorpur Abdul Aziz Institution in Faridpur was getting abducted from school, her classmates intercepted the kidnapper's car and the students give mass beating to the kidnapper.

At that time, the excited crowd set fire to the microbus used by the kidnappers.

The incident took place at the school mentioned in Ward No. 2 of Faridpur Municipality yesterday at around 10 am.

School teacher Amulya Kumar said that on Monday morning, some miscreants tried to pick up a class 10 student of Abdul Aziz Institution in a microbus. At that time, the girl's classmates and locals bravely stopped the car in the school grounds and caught it. Meanwhile, two people were arrested and handed over to the police and the others escaped. Later angry classmates and locals set fire to the microbus.

The accused arrested in connection with the abduction are Mamun (40), son of Ismail of Joydevpur village of Ishangopalpur union of Faridpur Sadar Upazila and Alamgir (52), son of Badsha Molla of Golchamot area of the city.

Confirming the truth of the incident, Faridpur Kotyali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) MA Jalil said that some miscreants with a microbus tried to kidnap a student of that school. They fail in the face of obstacles from their classmates. At that time, two people were arrested and mobbed by local people and students. Among them, one seriously injured is being treated at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital. The students set fire to the microbus used by the miscreants. Later, a fire service team reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The incident is under investigation and efforts are on to arrest others involved in the incident.
