Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two persons with 10 gold bars at Benapole border area on Wednesday.
Members of Putkhali camp under the 21 BGB Battalion arrested the duo with a motorcycle and the said gold bars.
Lt Col Tanvir Rahman, commander of 21 BGB Battalion, said a team of Putkhali camp conducted a raid near IchapurJame Mosque and arrested Md Habibur Rahman, 29, and Aktarul Islam, 25, along with the gold bars.
The arrestees were carrying the gold bars in their pant pockets in an innovative way.
Estimated value of the gold bars is Tk 86.20 lakh, he said adding that the arrestees were handed over to Benapole port police station having a case filed against them.
In last eight months, BGB in Khulna region arrested nine persons and recovered 14 kilograms and 76 grams of gold.
