A young man was electrocuted while stealing a transformer in Sonaimuri, Noakhali. At this time, a ladder, sewing range, screwdriver, pliers, and bag were recovered from the spot.

Deceased Kamal Hossain (35) is the son of deceased Emam Hossain of Bulua Colony, Palash councilor's house in Chandrapur area of Sadar Upazila of the district.

The body was sent to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital morgue for post-mortem on Thursday afternoon. Earlier, the incident took place in front of the Kaluai Muktijoddha Complex building in Nadona Union of the upazila on Wednesday night.

According to local sources, Kamal was electrocuted while stealing a transmitter from an electric pillar in front of the Kaluai Muktijoddha complex in Nadoa Union of the upazila at some time on Wednesday Dibag night and died after falling from the pillar onto the tiled road. He is believed to have been electrocuted while stealing a transformer and fell from a pillar to the tiles road to his death.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonaimuri Police Station Bakhtiar Uddin Chowdhury said that a group of thieves tried to steal the transformer at night. At that time, he fell down due to electric shock and died due to bruises on his face. Locals saw the body in the morning and informed the police. The police recovered the body and sent it to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital for post-mortem. A General Diary (GD) has been taken in this incident.
