Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said she will grant houses to teagarden workers to ensure a good living condition.
She gave the assurance while holding a virtual meeting with teagarden workers to resolve crisis in the sector.
Lawmaker from Moulvibazar-4 constituency Mohammed Abdus Shahid,and Deputy Commissioner Moulvibazar Nahid Ahsan, among others, attended the meeting.
The teagarden workers were engaged in a demonstration and work abstention demanding to hike salaries to Tk 300 per day.
After a meeting with the premier, the teagarden owners announced to increase salaries of the workers from Tk 120 to 170 daily.
The workers returned to work but many of them are not satisfied with the hike.
The Prime Minister held the meeting with leaders of the teagarden workers to resolve impasse in the sector over pay hike.
Earlier, on August 27, she held meeting with owners of teagardens at her official residence Ganabhaban in this regard.
A number of 13 owners of the teagardens participated in the meeting which ended in hike in pay.
