A group of students, who are supposed to sit for Rajshahi University (RU) admission test, staged demonstration at Airport Rail Station in Dhaka blocking the rail line there.

The demonstration forced the the railway authorities to suspend train services of Dhaka with other parts in the country, except Narayanganj.

It was learnt that, the students halted the operation of 'Nilsagar Express' train at the the airport station from 8:55 am after not getting tickets.

The protesting students alleged that they were waiting at the rail station for tickets from the morning. But after providing only four tickets, the counter authorities said there is no tickets which made them angered and led to an altercation.

At one stage, the students vandalised the counter and started demonstration, Dhaka Railway Police Station OC Mazharul Haque confirmed.

No trains left Kamalapur Rail Station for over two hours, said its manager Mohammad Masud Sarwar.
