Seminar on Bangladesh-India Relations and Development" Held

A seminar titled "Bangladesh-India Relations and Development," organized by the Bangladesh Bharat Maitri Samiti, took place on Saturday evening. The event featured Dr. Prof. Dr. K. G. Suresh, the Vice Chancellor of MCN University, Bhopal, India, who delivered a speech as the chief guest. The seminar, chaired by Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah BNCCO, also included a speech by Prof. Ujjal Anu Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of Adamas University, India, as a special guest.

During his speech, Prof. Dr. KG Suresh emphasized the historically significant relationship between Bangladesh and India. He highlighted the potential role that universities can play in further developing this relationship and expressed optimism about strengthening existing ties through discussions, seminars, and scholarships for deserving students. Prof. Dr. Ujjal Anu stated that Bangladesh's youth is its greatest strength and advocated for increased exchange of ideas among students from both countries to foster a stronger sense of brotherhood.

The seminar witnessed additional speeches by Dr. Suchita Sharmin, Professor of the Development Studies Department at Dhaka University, Dr. Tanveer Fittin Abir, Fellow of Australia's Western Sydney University, Advocate Syed Tanveer Hossain Kawsar, Dr. Bakhtiar Uddin. Dr. Dipu Siddiqui, Chairman of the Education Department, Royal University of Dhaka extended gratitude to the Indian guests.

Dr. Kalimullah, in his presidential address, highlighted India's active role in supporting Bangladesh's development. He noted that India promptly recognized Bangladesh's self-esteem and independence after the Liberation War and stressed the importance of passing on this message to the new generation. Dr. Tanveer Fittin Abir concluded by emphasizing that the relationship between Bangladesh and India is deeply rooted in history.

The seminar served as a platform to discuss and strengthen the bonds between the two countries, particularly in the context of education and shared heritage.

Dr. Suchita Sharmin, Professor, expressed, "India possesses a profound harmony of history, language, culture, and mentality." During the vote of thanks, Dr. Dipu Siddiqui conveyed, "The presence of emotion and ideological positions regarding Bangladesh-India relations are distinctly evident." A new significant milestone in the closely friendly relationship between India and Bangladesh has been achieved with the inauguration of the India-Bangladesh Friendship Diesel Pipeline. Journalist Kazi Awlad Hossain, Deputy Secretary Mizanur Rahman, Khandaker Sharif, Didarul Alam, Yasmin Ara, Journalist Parveen Akhter Nila, Saiful Islam Khan, Shaheed Bappi, and others actively participated in the seminar
