Party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself is monitoring and giving directives to tackle Cyclone Mocha, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said.
“Our party has also informed the organizational leaders of the vulnerable areas and what to do during these times,” he said at a meeting of the secretariat level of Awami League in Dhaka's Dhanmondi on Sunday.
“People have been evacuated earlier by the government. People were taken to shelters with amazing speed,” added Quader.
The road transport and bridges minister also noted: “Awami League is not a drop of morning dew on the leaves, any strategy of BNP will be resisted by the common people.”
“BNP and its allies are talking about overthrowing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government by creating a political storm, but the reality is that they are not capable of making any movement or creating any storm, so they are trying to cover their inability by shouting,” added Quader.
Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul ALam Hanif, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Dr Dipu Moni, Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, Ahmed Hossain, Mirza Azam, BM Mozammel Huq, Sujit Roy Nandi, Office Secretary Biplab Barua among others were present in the meeting.
