Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said the people of the country will never support
BNP’s non-cooperation movement.
“Although
the BNP has been trying to enforce programmes one after another to thwart the
national elections but people will never response. They are also trying to
destabilize the situation,” he told journalists at his secretariat office
here.
Replying
to a question, the minister said that when everything is going well and people
are engaging in elections with festive mood, the BNP calls for non-cooperation
movement, adding, “In this situation, if gas, electricity and water supply are
stopped, then what will be happened to those who have called for creating a
trouble ?”
He said
that the Election Commission (EC) is working for holding a peaceful and
violence free polls and the government is cooperating to the EC.
“People
will resist those who are creating anarchy. Some people engage in BNP politics,
but love the country are becoming embracing. Most of them are boycotting the
elections. See how the BNP is being divided in different groups,” he said.
Kamal
said, "You have been observing for a few days, but I have always been
saying that the people of this country will not vote them. People of this
country have turned their face back from BNP. And then the BNP took decision
not to participate in the elections and is continuously giving programme one
after another to create an unrest situation to foil the elections.”
“I
think our people will vote on time and the election commission will present a
fair and beautiful poll,” the minister said.
He said
that since October 28, they have been continuously wreaking havoc. The vehicles
were set on fire along with helper of the bus and now they have started arson
attacks on trains and removed railway fishplates.
Kamal
said you have observed that four people were burnt in a moving train, adding,
“Earlier, a similar incident took place in Gazipur. But they are continuously
doing this kind of sabotage acts.”
He said
that the security forces will find out those responsible for the incident in
which four people were died.
The
minister commented that they are trying to create an unstable situation in the
country.
He also said, "The Prime Minister came to power with the people's mandate and she thinks that the people's mandate is the only way to change the state power."
