Deputy Minister of Ministry of Water Resources AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem said that the inauguration ceremony of Padma Bridge will be ever best festival of rememberance and historical by foiling all conspiracies over the ceremony.  

"A vested quarter hatched conspiracy to stop the construction of Padma Bridge, but failed. Now, a conspiracy is being hatched to confound the inaugural ceremony. But it will yeild nothing. The ceremony will be ever best festival and historical." 

The deputy minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at the launch of newly formed executive committee of Shariatpur Journalists' Association (SJA), Dhaka and discussion meeting on "Dreamy Padma Bridge: Shariatpur among the southern region on the way of prosperity" held at Dhaka  Reporters Unity    (DRU) at Segunbagicha in the capital on Friday.

On the development of Shariatpur, he said that Padma Bridge will bring property for the people of Shariatpur. 

He said a four-lane road has already passed to be constructed while the issue of  Sheikh Hasina Agriculture University construction will get place in ECNEC meeting soon. The entire Shariatpur will be brought under street lighting rapidly, said the minister.

On the Meghna Bridge, he said that its design will be completed in January next year. "If this bridge is once built, about 60 kilometres of distance between Shariatpur and Chattogram will cut,"he said.

The minister said that Bangladesh is only safe in hand of Sheikh Hasina as she is the daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Member of Parliament (MP) of Shariatpur-3 constituency Nahim Razzaq said that Padma Bridge is our feeling and it is the properity for Shariatpur and entire the southern part of the country. He said that BRTC buses will ply on the routes of the district. He said that the people representatives, policians, Journalists and bureaucrats of the district will sit together after Eid-ul-Azha for decisions how it will be developed.

Chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regularoty Commission (BTRC) Shyam Sunder Sikder said that a  Hi-Tech park will be built at Zajira. 

Editor of the daily Jugantor Saiful Alam said that 21 districts of the southern region will rapidly advance financially, politically and socially only for the Padma Bridge. 

Senior Secretary of Public Security Division under Ministry of Home Affairs Md Akhter Hossain said that Shariatpur will get property after the inauguration of the bridge. Tourist spots gets momentum near any river bank. As Zajira and Naria upazilas are located along the Padma River, there is a great opportunity for tourism sector there. He urged tourism businessmen to come forward. 

Former President of DRU and SJA Rafiqul Islam Azad and incumbent General Secretary of DRU Nurul Islam Hasib spoke among others with Benzir Ahead, president of SJA, in the chair while General Secretary of it Asaduzzaman Azam moderated.
