Mourn the death of international climate expert Salimul Haque

The Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Md. Shahab Uddin, Deputy Minister Habibun Nahar, Special Envoy of the Honorable Prime Minister for Environment and Climate Affairs and President of the Standing Committee on the Ministry Saber Hossain Chowdhury and Secretary of the Ministry have expressed deep grief over the death of Internationally renowned Bangladeshi climate expert, director of the International Center for Climate Change and Development Professor Dr. Salimul Haque. In separate condolence messages today, they prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.

In his condolence message, the Environment Minister said that Professor Salimul Haque, one of the world's top climate experts, has made outstanding contributions to the environment and climate change by working in various important positions in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Global Center on Adaptation. He was not only on behalf of Bangladesh to combat the adverse effects of climate change, but also worked for the welfare of the entire world community. The death of an experienced climatologist like him who participated in all climate conferences of the United Nations is an irreparable loss to the world.

Note that international climate expert Salimul Haque passed away on Saturday (October 28) at the age of 71 (Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). He is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter and numerous well-wishers.
