Customs officials have detained one man and seized over 1.21 kilograms of gold from him at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The detainee has been identified as Shah Alam, a resident of Dagonbhuiyan upazila of Feni.
Shah Alam arrived from Sharjah of the United Arab Emirates on a flight of Air Arabia, airport sources said.
"Tipped off, customs officials stopped Shah Alam for frisking as he was passing through the green channel, and seized 7 gold bars and jewelry, worth Tk89 lakh, from his bag," an official said.
