BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will not qualify for the next electoral race, said law minister Anisul Huq.
However, leading the party or doing politics is her personal issue which will not be interfered by the government, he added.
He was addressing the journalists after attending orientation course for the judges at Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI) in the capital on Sunday.
The law minister quoted the provision of the Constitution curtailing right of a convict to contest polls.
Khaleda Zia, convicted of Zia charitable and Zia orphanage trust cases, is on parole granted by the government in exercise of executive power.
