Awami Jubo League is all set  to hold a grand youth rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Friday marking its golden jubilee.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Awami League (AL), will address the rally as the chief guest in the afternoon.

Earlier, Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash said the organisation played a key role in the country's democratic movement and national development since its inception.

Jubo League has already held a series of meetings to make the rally a success.

Up to 75,000 t-shirts have been made for Dhaka City North and South Jubo League leaders and activists. Dhaka City North Jubo League has been instructed to wear green and South Jubo League red caps.

The organisation is all set for a massive showdown across the city on its 50th anniversary, Parash added.

On November 11, 1972, Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni, nephew of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, founded the AL's youth body.

The roads which will remain closed

Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) requested to use alternative roads on this occasion, avoiding the roads around the Suhrawardy Uddyan.

Because, those roads including Kataban crossing, Hotel Intercontinental crossing, Police Bhaban crossing, Kakrail Church crossing, UBL crossing, High Court crossing, Doel Chattar crossing, Dhaka University Medical Centre, Jagannath Hall crossing, Raju Bhaskarja crossing and VC Chattar crossing will be closed due to the grand youth rally.
