Rail communication between Dhaka and other parts of the country resumed on Sunday afternoon after five hours of suspension due to blockade on rail tracks by a section of temporary workers of the Bangladesh Railway near Karwan Bazar in the capital.

The workers under the banner of 'Bangladesh Railway Temporary Workers' stopped movement of Titas commuter train by putting barricade on the rail tracks at FDC Railgate area of Karwan Bazar in the capital in the morning.

The railway workers said they are demanding to make the job of  temporary workers permanent, regularization of jobs, cancellation of outsourcing practice and amendment to the recruitment rules 2020.
