Renowned Media Personality and TV Presenter, Mr. Jamil Ahmed has Obtained PhD Degree According to the decision of the Academic Council and Syndicate Meetings, Mr. Jamil Ahmed) has been conferred with the PhD degree. The title of his thesis was “Role of Media in Disseminating Local Governance Policy Reform Agenda in Bangladesh”. The supervisor for this research work was Dr. Mahmudur Rahman and Co-supervisor was, Professor Dr. Abul Kashem Mozumder. Jamil Ahmed obtained his Masters degree in English Language and Linguistics following completion of a BA in English Literature. He has completed MPhil in Local Governance & Public Administration . He had a advanced training on ‘Civil Society Outreach’ from Institute of Development Studies (IDS), UK in 2007 and had a diploma in Journalism from Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB). He received advanced training on Media Advocacy from CARE International, Atlanta, USA in 2008. He was awarded Eisenhower Fellowship (USA) in 2012 on Strategic Leadership Development by US State Department, US Government. Jamil Ahmed has over 25 years of professional experience in Program Development and Management, especially in the areas of program design, develop and implementation, Specialized in relationship building with civil society, Policy advocacy campaign, BCC/IEC materials development and information dissemination, Efficient in training facilitation, moderating and anchoring.  Jamil Ahmed worked with renowned National and International agencies including BBC London, The Daily Star, Prothom Alo, Action Aid - UK, Save the Children-USA, USAID funded Governance programs (ARD, RTI, DAI), TIB & CARE-USA. Jamil Ahmed was the Founder Executive Director of Journalism Training and Research Institute of USAID/BRAC University. Jamil Ahmed served in the senior positions (both Academic and Administrative) at several private universities. He served as the Director at North South University (NSU) and Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). As a Professor, he also taught, Journalism, Media studies and Communications at University of Liberal Arts (ULAB)
