Throwing a challenge to Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader to contest with him in the next general election, Hero Alam has sought election under caretaker government.

Independent candidate Ashraful Alam alias Hero Alam made the remarks after handing over a letter to Bogura deputy commissioner's office demanding recounting of votes in the bye-election of Bogura-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram).

The social media content creator said, "They didn't complete my election results properly. I had suspicion about it. So, I have collected the results of all polling centres. Most of the candidates received unusual number of votes at some centres. Mentioning the names of those centres, I submitted a letter to the deputy commissioner for recounting of votes. They have accepted my request but they didn't tell anything else when they would recount the ballots. If they don't respond, I will go to the High Court."

Responding to a question whether the BNP is working for him, Hero Alam said, "BNP was supposed to stay with me in the field on the by-election day, but there was not a single BNP man with me. This is some rumours made by some some people. Not only BNP's Mirza Fakhrul Sir, the entire world and Bangladesh spoke in favour of me."

Hero Alam further said, "Bridges Division minister Obaidul Quader Sir said 'Hero Alam becomes zero.' But, Hero Alam never becomes zero. Those who wanted to turn a hero into zero, they have now become zero. The Bridges minister undermined me while talking about me. But, a minister cannot undermine a citizen of the country. He often says 'Come! I want to play with you.'"

Hero Alam further said, "I want a free and fair election. I want the next parliament election under a caretaker government where all political parties will take part and all the voters will be able to cast their votes withour fear."
