Five killed in M'singh triangular collision

Five people were killed and at least 15 injured in a triangular collision among three vehicles in Mymensingh city early Tuesday.

The accident happened around 12:30 am on a bypass through Shikarikanda in the Mymensingh city.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

Kotwali Model Police Station OC Shah Kamal Akando said a Sherpur-bound bus belonging to Faiyaz Travels was going to Dhaka. On the way, it hit a pickup van and a CNG-run autorickshaw from behind when tried to overtake. The pickup van then turned turtle on the road and the bus got twisted.

Two died on the spot and two others on way to the hospital.

Being informed, Fire Service men rushed in and rescued at least 15 persons and sent them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Following the accident, the highway was blocked for an hour.
