Chowdhury Mahebullah Abu Noor Vice President of the Central Jubo Dal was arrested by the police in Thakurgaon while trying to set the car on fire.

Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station OC Md. Feroz Kabir said, he was arrested from Choto Khochabari area of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila on Sunday evening. The arrested Chowdhury Mahebullah Abu Noor (51) is the vice-president of the Central Jubo Dal and at the same time he is serving as the president of the Thakurgaon District Jubo Dal. Sadar police station OC Feroz Kabir said that youth leader Chowdhury Mahebullah Abu Noor, who was arrested while trying to set the car on fire, was arrested by local people and handed over to the police. A bag full of petrol and pieces of bricks were found from him.

He said, Youth Dal leader Abu Noor was brought to the police station and is being interrogated. There are several cases against him on various charges including obstruction of police work, sabotage. Meanwhile, Jubo Dal leaders and workers complained that Central Jubo Dal Vice President Mahebullah Abu Noor was going to Khochabari for organizational work along with some leaders and workers. At that time, Jubo League leaders arrested him and beat him up and handed him over to the police. General Secretary of Nargun Union Jubo League of Sadar Upazila Nur Nabi said that some Jubo League leaders of the area were returning home from the city. At that time they saw some youths throwing brickbats at the cars moving on the road. They told him about it. When he immediately went to the spot with party leaders, the youth fled on a motorcycle and one was arrested. Petrol and bags of bricks are available from him. At that time I got to know that he is the president of the district Jubo Dal. Later, when informed, the police came and took him to the police station. However, Thakurgaon District BNP General Secretary Mirza Faisal Amin said that the allegations made by Jubo League leaders and activists of vandalizing vehicles and trying to set them on fire are not correct. Mahebullah Abu Noor was going to Khochabari for organizational work. At that time Jubo League workers blocked his way and beat him up and handed him over to the police.
