Even a voice rise against the pouroshova convenor of BNP Cox’s Bazar Rafiqul Huda Chowdhury creating influence of bnp poewer to occupied the bank of the river and filled the forest. The environment destroyed activities has been running before Eid ul Adha but there is no visible action from Cox's Bazar administration.
On Wednesday afternoon we visit the area of Cox's Bazar Bodar mukam , the central vast cremation around adjacent to Bankhali, the largest part of river forest tin fenced by the occupied.
In the fence they fill river and forest by using trucks with soil and it is ran with full speed. A on duty worker named Badiul Alam said that, Rafiqul huda is the owner of the land. According to his order the land fill with soil.
I have been working here for long 26 years.But there is no legal paper jow a high tide and low tide river and state river forest has gone under persons ownership. Rafiqul Huda admit the liability but fid show any legal paper or environmental certificate. Even he used arrogant behaviour with reporter not answering about that.He said that even if it claimed for him to the home minister and prime minister there is no affect and he is totally indifferent about news.
To get legality of his activities Rafiqul huda tried his best and to hide his evil activities.
Yousuf Badari office secretary of coxs disrict BNP said, any one involvement in any offensive activity is punishable crime. And BNP will take action against them if it is proved and tjere is no space in BNP for him. We will take strict step against him.
According to ecologists, Bankhali river and costal river forest is state wealth. And it plays a vital role to safeguard of nature which safe us from flood and protect our lives.
According to existing laws, filling River and forest is a punishable crime.
Where prime minister emphasise on protecting river and reservoir, there, conscious circles have demanded the immediate intervention of the concerned authorities to stop such encroachment right under the nose of the administration in the heart of the district city itself.
