Environment Department enforcement notice 2 people who cut hills in Juri

In Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar, 2 persons have been issued notices by the Sylhet Divisional Office of the Environment Department for cutting hills and hills without the permission of the Environment Department and causing damage to the environment and surroundings.

The operation was conducted in West Kachurgul and Lathitila villages of Goalbari Union of Juri Upazila last Tuesday afternoon. It is known that the miscreants in the area have been illegally cutting hills and using the land for their own needs for a long time. Swapan Kumar Das conducted the operation along with data entry operators under the leadership of Md. Maidul Islam, assistant director of Moulvibazar district of Environment Directorate on the basis of secret information. Shafiq Uddin, son of deceased Abdur Rahim of West Kachurgul village of Goalbari UP, Mahmud Ali, son of deceased Rustam Ali of Lathitila village, signed by Director of Environment Department, Mohammad Emran Hossain, to appear in hearing for environmental damage, on charges of cutting hills and hills without permission of Environment Department and causing damage to environment and surroundings is provided.

The accused persons are asked to appear at the Sylhet office of the Department of Environment at 10 am on December 5 and attend the hearing. Bangladesh Environment Protection Act, 1965 (Amended)-2010 contradict section 12th which is an offense punishable under Section 15th of the same Act.
