Dr Abdullah Al Mamun has been appointed as Deputy Managing Director of Janata Bank Limited, a leading state-owned bank of the country.
Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance has made the appointment recently.
Earlier, Dr Abdullah was General Manager of Agrani Bank Limited’s Industrial Credit Division, International Division, Treasury Division, SME, RCD, SFD, E&ED, PCSD (Common & Printing), CPCRMD, Credit Committee, Amin Court Corporate Branch, Gulshan Corporate Branch, Banani Corporate Branch and Mohakhali Corporate Branch Dhaka.
He joined training and workshops on banking profession at home and abroad including Nepal and Malaysia. He received his PhD degree from American Independent University, California (Department of Banking and Finance) in 2018 on The Industrial Credit Risk Management in Bangladesh.
He obtained his MBA degree from Asian University of Bangladesh in 2006 (Banking and Finance) and BSC (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering form BIT Khulna (now KUET) in 1987. Board of Directors of Agrani Bank gave him Appreciation Certificate for playing a key role in the successful implementation of the Covid-19 stimulus package announced by Prime Minister.
Mentionable, Dr Md Abdullah Al Mamun was born in 1964 in a noble Muslim family in Kaliarchar village under Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj.
